Over 250 cartons of illicit liquor worth Rs 20 lakh were seized during an inspection ahead of Holi in Shamli district, police said today.
The seizure was made when a police team intercepted a tractor trolley loaded with the liquor. But, the smugglers managed to flee the spot, Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari said.
A case has been registered against the accused, he said.
