Over 3,200 pilgrims will go for Haj from MP this year

As many as 13 special flights will carry 3,250 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh for annual Haj pilgrimage to Mecca.

The Madhya Pradesh State Haj Committee president Haji Inayat Hussian Qureshi said here today that this year a total of 3,250 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh will go for Haj in 13 special flights, departing from Indore and Bhopal airports.

The special flights to Jeddah from Indore and Bhopal will continue till September 29, he said, adding, so far 699 pilgrims have reached Jeddah from Indore in three flights and 466 from Bhopal in two flights, carrying 233 passengers in each flight.
 

Beside pilgrims travelling from Indore and Bhopal, 125 pilgrims from other parts of the state will take flights from Mumbai on September 29, Qureshi added.

To assists pilgrims travelling from Mumbai, Committee representatives will also be present there, he said.

Keeping in mind the problems caused due to delay in flights, he said the committee will discuss it with the Central Haj Committee and Air India officials.

Trips to Haj from MP have started from September 25. Of the 13 flights, eight are flying from Indore and five from Bhopal.
