At least 40 school children in Haryana complained of illness, especially abdominal pain and nausea, after taking deworming tablets on the occasion of National Deworming Day today.
"Eighteen children reported pain in abdomen in Sonipat and all of them were examined by the doctors and later discharged," Health Minister Anil Vij said.
Seventeen children in Kaithal and five children in Panipat complained of nausea after taking the tablets which were given to them in schools, he said.

There were also reports of few children complaining of nausea symptoms after taking deworming tablets in Barara town.
"All the children have been taken care of and there is nothing to worry about," Vij said.
Sonipat's Civil Surgeon, Jaswant Punia said, "It is normal for a few to have such reaction when a large number of children are being administered the tablets. Sometimes, a child may have a large number of worms and this happens but there is nothing to worry."
Vij said 80 lakh children between the age of six and 19 were administered deworming tablets in Haryana today.
