The survey, conducted by the China Population Communication Center (CPCC) under the National Population and Family Planning Commission among 3,000 women, shows that women believe that ideal sexual relations could largely improve their relationships with their partners.

It said 57.6 per cent of respondents would not be willing to discuss their sexual feelings with their partners, and nearly 70 per cent of women passively receive sex knowledge.

Due to the improper use of contraceptives, China sees a large amount of induced abortion procedures, Gu Xiangying, an official with the Chinese Medical Association told state run Xinhua news agency.

Also today, the Chinese Communist Party kicked off a programme to popularise contraception knowledge via brochures, online experts and free lectures in colleges and communities.
