Over 46.45 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in the market yards of Haryana during the current kharif season so far against that of 32.31 lakh tonnes (LT) in the year-ago period.
While government procurement agencies have purchased more than 39.46 LT paddy, millers and dealers purchased 6.99 LT paddy, a spokesman of Food and Supplies Department said today.
Karnal had received the maximum amount of paddy at 9.87 lakh MT, followed by Kurukshetra (9.83 LT), Ambala (6.29 LT) and Kaithal (5.61 LT).

He also informed that during ongoing Kharif season, 20,127 tonnes of bajra has also arrived in 'mandis' until yesterday, which has been purchased by government agencies and traders.
Nearly 16,389 tonnes of bajra had arrived in the mandis during the corresponding period of last year, the spokesman said.
