"As per the inputs derived from the interrogation of a militant, a group of 50 militants are undertaking a refreshers course in training camp across the border and efforts of the agencies across is to push them to this side to trigger violence here," Inspector General of Police, Jammu zone, Dilbagh Singh, told reporters here today.
However, he ruled out that ceasefire violations on Indo-Pak border is being done with intentions to target Amarnath yatra.
The agencies across the border will try and push them to this side of the border, Singh said adding, but they will not be allowed to cross over to this side as the security establishment along the borderline is alert.
Their attempts have always been to train militants and push them to this side to carry out attacks here, he said adding that no infiltration has taken place in Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB) in Jammu zone, although there have been lot of attempts made but all foiled.
Regarding a question that the ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops was meant to infiltrate militants and target Amarnath yatra, the IGP said that there has been no such inputs.
However, elaborate arrangements have been made for safety and security of Amarnath yatra and pilgrims and there is no threat to it, he said.
IGP, who reviewed the security of the base camp of the yatra at Bhagwati Nagar along with IG CRPF, G J Singh, this evening, said all arrangements have been put in place for safety and security of pilgrims at the base camp.
Talking to reporters, IG CRPF said that CRPF has been tasked with security of Amarnath yatra and they have been so far deployed at several places at the camp and enroute cave shrine.
Rest of the CRPF force will be deployed as per the requirement as Amarnath yatra will begin, he said adding that the force is committed to perform their duty and ensure the passage of incident-free Amarnath yatra.
