Though normal life was disrupted due to landslides triggered by excessive rains and floods, voters in tribal-dominated Kinnaur Assembly segment of Mandi Parliamentary constituency voted today in large numbers, registering a 54 per cent turnout.
The polling percentage in Kinnaur was higher than the overall percentage of 52 per cent inspite of rains and large number of people stranded at various places.
Polling in 16 Assembly segments of Mandi Lok Sabha seat was held on June 23, but was deferred in Kinnaur as polling parties and election material could not reach 105 out of 118 polling booths as most areas were inaccessible by roads.
