Over 57 lakh tonne wheat arrives in Haryana

More than 57.85 lakh tonne of wheat has arrived in Haryana during the ongoing procurement season.

Government agencies have procured 57.84 lakh tonnes of wheat whereas 1961 tonnes of crop has been purchased by private traders, the Food and Supplies Department said.

HAFED has purchased highest 21.62 lakh tonnes of wheat followed by 16.34 lakh tonnes purchased by Food and Supplies Department.

Agro Industries Corporation purchased 5.21 lakh tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 5.84 lakh tonnes, CONFED 1.43 lakh tonnes and Food Corporation of India had procured 7.38 lakh tonnes of wheat during current procurement season so far.

He said that district Sirsa is leading in the wheat arrival where 7.71 lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis, followed by Karnal with 6.27 lakh tonnes.
