Over 60,000 birds die in poultry farms

Shyamal Mondal, Sub-divisional Officer of Basirhat, where

the birds have died, said their samples had been sent to the veterinary laboratory at Belgachia. Reports, however, were yet to be received.

Precautionary measures have been taken in the affected poultry farms, he added.
