Over 60.28 lakh tonnes paddy arrives in Haryana

More than 60.28 lakh tonnes of paddy arrived in Haryana until yesterday during the current procurement season as compared to over 52.68 lakh tonnes during the corresponding period last year.

Out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 55.56 lakh tonnes of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 4.71 lakh tonnes were procured by millers, a spokesman of the State's Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said here today.

He said that more than 25.84 lakh tonnes of paddy has been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.

Over 18.31 lakh tonnes of the crop was procured by Hafed, over 6.03 lakh tonnes has been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation, over 5.20 lakh tonnes by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation and 16,717 tonnes has been purchased by the Food Corporation of India.
 

He said that more than 14.24 lakh tonnes paddy has arrived in 'mandis' of Karnal, over 11.73 lakh tonnes in Kurukshetra, over 7.82 lakh tonnes in Kaithal and over 7.55 lakh tonnes in Ambala.
