Over 67.32 lakh tonnes paddy arrives in Haryana

More than 67.32 lakh tonnes of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana as compared to over 62.50 lakh tonnes during the corresponding period last year.

Stating this here today, a spokesman of food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 58.69 lakh tonnes of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 8.63 lakh tonnes was procured by the millers.

He said that more than 27.36 lakh tonnes of paddy has been purchased by the food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department.

Over 19.17 lakh tonnes by Hafed, over 6.40 lakh tonnes has been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation, over 5.55 lakh tonnes by the Haryana Agro-industries Corporation and 19,585 tonnes has been purchased by the Food Corporation of India, he said.
 

The spokesman said that out of the total arrival of paddy, the maximum quantity of paddy has arrived in Karnal which is over 14.47 lakh tonnes followed by Kurukshetra over 12.11 lakh tonnes.
