Over 73 lakh MT wheat arrives in Haryana

As much as 73.07 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far.

Out of the total arrived wheat, the five government procuring agencies have purchased about 73 lakh metric tonnes (MT) and traders have purchased 6,854 MT of wheat at Minimum Support Price.

A spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said the procurement process was running smoothly in the mandis.

He said 18.03 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by Food and Supplies Department, whereas HAFED has purchased 26.37 lakh MT of wheat.

Food Corporation of India has purchased 8.55 lakh MT of wheat, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has purchased 6.70 lakh MT and over 13.33 lakh MT of wheat has been procured by Haryana Warehousing Corporation, he further said.
