More than five lakh officers and employees of the Rajasthan government would be trained to ensure free and fair assembly elections due in a few months, Chief Electoral Officer Ashwini Bhagat said today.
Number of voters has increased as compared to the last year, prompting the Election Commission to train more government employees, he said.
Bhagat said over 1,200 officers have been trained so far.
He said a work plan has been made under which divisional commissioners, district collectors and block-level officers would be trained for holding peaceful and fair elections in the state.
Additional Chief Electoral Officer Jogaram said, "Over 85,000 policemen will be provided training by master trainers for strengthening law and order measures during the elections".
