Over Rs 150 cr released for tourism development in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir government today said that it has released over Rs 150 crore to 20 Development Authorities for development of tourism-related infrastructure in the state during the last two fiscals.

Replying to a question of JKNPP MLA Yash Paul Kundal in the Assembly, Tourism Minister G A Mir said the government has released Rs 157.37 crore to 20 Development Authorities for development of tourist related infrastructure in the state during the last two fiscals under state and Central plans.

He said Rs 1.05 crore has been expended on various tourism-related works in Samba Constituency through Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority in the last fiscal and up to January of current financial year.
 

Another Rs 1.74 crore was utilized by the Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority during the same period in Ramnagar constituency, he said.

An amount of Rs 92.90 lakh was also spent through Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) during the said period in the constituency, while another Rs 47.20 lakh was being utilized in Ramnagar constituency in the current financial year through PDA, he said

The Minister said that the tenders for installation of high mast lights at potential spots in Ramnagar have been floated and estimates for construction of viewpoints is being prepared.
