Over Rs 63 lakh in cash was seized in two cases in the district where byelection to the Yercaud assembly constituency is scheduled on December 4, police said today.

In the first incident, Rs 60 lakh was seized from a car proceeding to Kerala at Mummudi checkpost last night.

Police said revenue officials seized Rs 3.5 lakh from another car.
