The examination committee of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) today endorsed Odisha government's decision to hold the state matriculation (class X) examination-2016 from February 22 to March 4 next year.
After the Committee meeting, BSE president D P Nanda announced the decision saying a little over six lakh students have filled up their application forms online to write the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations next year.
"The online form fill up that was introduced for the first time this year went on very smoothly," Nanda informed saying if there were any mistakes in the forms, that could be corrected as the Board website would be hoisting them till November 30.
Nanda said the examination committee has approved the proposal to hike the remunerations of invigilators and paper evaluators as there was a constant demand to revise them.
The BSE president further said the state government has opened the State Institute of Open School (SIOS) and entrusted the BSE to hold examinations regularly for those school dropouts wishing to be matriculates by clearing the examination.
"Over 3,200 students have enrolled with SIOS and we are going to hold matriculation examinations for them soon," Nanda added.
