Several incidents of waterlogging were reported from various parts of the city, particularly in south Delhi in the wake of overnight rain which also uprooted trees and caused collapse of portions of buildings in many areas.

Over a dozen cases of waterlogging were reported from areas under the South Delhi Municipal Corporation including Sangam Vihar, R Block, Badarpur to Molarband stretch of road, Bhogal underpass, Ashram, Jasola Vihar and Devli Extension, a senior SDMC official.

Ten trees were uprooted while four cases of collapse of old portions of buildings were also reported, he said.

Waterlogging on a flyover near AIIMS led to traffic jam towards Lodhi Road and Chanakyapuri.

In east Delhi, two cases of building collapse were reported although no casualty occurred, a senior official of East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) said.

In north Delhi too, waterlogging was reported in areas like Shastri Nagar.
