All India Majlis e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi today stressed the need for Dalits, backward classes and minorities to unite and emerge as a strong force.

"We need to be together because problems faced by us are the same. Our youths are unemployed and there is no development in our areas. Hence, it is very important to get united, become a power and move forward," the Hyderabad MP said.

He was addressing a gathering which assembled as part of a convention on the welfare of SCs, STs, BCs and minorities to highlight the demands.

"It is your party (AIMIM)... I request you to join us and we will move forward together. Majlis wants that justice is meted out to everyone and it will be done only when we will get political empowerment. We need to work together and it will ensure benefit to all of us. Until there is political empowerment of SCs, STs, backward classes and minorities, justice will not be meted out," he said.

"I feel, if MIM has to move ahead, it has to take not only Muslims, but Dalits and backward class along as well. It will also ensure there is no misunderstanding," the AIMIM President said.

Stating that the convention was only a beginning in that direction, Owaisi said, "We will put all efforts and move forward with this work. Our effort will be not only restricted to a single convention or to Hyderabad, but such conventions will be held across Telangana state and message will be spread on the need for members of SC, ST, OBC and minorities to be unite.
