Oza elected as president of MSLTA for five-year term

Mumbai-based All India Tennis Association secretary Bharat Oza and Pune's Sunder Iyer have been unanimously elected unopposed as the new president and secretary of the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association for a five-year term from 2014 to 2018.

Rajeev Deshpande of Nashik and Sudhir Bhiwapurkar of Nagpur have been elected as the joint secretary and treasurer respectively and the results of the election were announced at the AGM of the MSLTA held here, a media release said today.

Iyer, a grass root level tennis administrator, is the youngest to hold the post of secretary and the second from Pune after Dr G A Ranade to occupy the post, while Oza has been elevated to the position of the president of the association.
 

Pradeep Joshi, Bhalchandra Bhagwat (both Mumbai), Rajkumar Chordia, Vishwas Lokare (both Pune), Rajeev Desai (Solapur) and Dr Dileep Rane (Navi Mumbai) have been elected as the new vice presidents, the release said.

Following is the new MSLTA managing committee for the term 2014-2018:

Life president: Ghanshyam Patel (Mumbai), Life vice presidents: Anand Tulpule (Pune), Mohan Varde (Mumbai); President: Bharat Oza (Mumbai), Secretary: Sunder Iyer (Pune); Jt. Secretary: Rajeev Deshpande (Nashik); treasurer: Sudhir Bhiwapurkar (Nagpur); vice presidents: Pradeep Joshi, Bhalchandra Bhagwat (both Mumbai), Rajkumar Chordia, Vishwas Lokare (both Pune), Rajeev Desai (Solapur), Dr Dileep Rane (Navi Mumbai); Council members: Prashant Sutar, Abhishek Tamhane (both Pune), Sheetal Bhosale (Kolhapur), Milind Deshpande (Parbhani) , Shivam Mor (Yewatmal), Rajesh Belani, Deepak Pandit, Vikram Sampat (all Mumbai).
