Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram left for New Delhi today to meet party chief Sonia Gandhi against the backdrop of demands for replacement of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief E V K S Elangovan.
When reporters sought his reaction to issues including the demands for replacement of Elangovan at the airport here, he declined to answer.
He boarded a 6.30 pm flight to New Delhi.

Yesterday, a delegation of senior party leaders from Tamil Nadu, including Chidambaram, had met Sonia seeking replacement of Elangovan.
The delegation comprising several leaders, including three former TNCC presidents, charged Elangovan with not taking other state party leaders along with him, which is having an adverse impact on the growth of the party in the southern state due for polls next year.
