P S Harsha IPS took charge as the Mangaluru city police commissioner here on Friday.
Sandeep Patil, who was the police commissioner earlier, was initially replaced by state intelligence division DIG Subrahmanyeshwar Rao.
However, the order was later revoked and Harsha was appointed in the post.
Harsha has the experience of performing official police duty here in the past.
He began his duties as Puttur ASP.
He was the commissioner of the department of information during 2017-18.
