PAC Chairman K V Thomas' remark that Prime Minister Narendra Modi could be called to appear before it over the issue of demonetisation is "wrong, unethical and against laid out Parliamentary procedures", its member Nishikant Dubey has said in a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker.
Dubey, a BJP MP, said the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman made the statement without consulting its members.
Thomas has said that PAC can call Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue of demonetisation if it is not satisfied with the answers given by top finance ministry officials and RBI Governor Urjit Patel, to whom a detailed questionnaire has been sent.
