The team, however, did not comprise its chairman Murli Manohar Joshi. "We will hold discussion with the state government officials and other stakeholders on CAG report," BJD MP Bhartuhari Mahtab, the convenor of the PAC Team, said.

Mahta said the team would like to know the basis of state government's recommendations in favour of certain companies for allocation of coal blocks.

"We will also see whether the stipulated rules were followed for allocation of coal blocks in the state," he said.

The team comprises MPs belonging to Congress, BJP, Shiv Sena, CPI-M, BJD and TMC. The PAC team, sources said, would discuss on the officials of the Coal India Limited (CIL), Odisha government officials including the Chief Secretary and others.

Meanwhile, an official spokesman said that the state government would apprise its stand on the coal block allocation and why it was pleading for coal block allocation in favour of state-based industries and the state PSUs.

The panel will scrutinise documents pertaining to coal block allocation and the alleged irregularities in the process of allotment based on findings of the CAG report.
