Actor John Boyega has confirmed the title of the upcoming sequel to the 2013 action-fantasy "Pacific Rim".
The 24-year-old star shared a photo of his personalised script on Instagram, featuring the words "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom", which long has been rumored to be the title of the follow-up to Guillermo del Toro's directorial.
"First day on Pacific Rim today. Here's to a great adventure ahead," he wrote.

The actor is playing the son of Stacker Pentecost, the character played by actor Idris Elba in the first film.
Steven S DeKnight is directing "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom", which also stars Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny and Jing Tian.
DeKnight also took to Twitter to share that the film has gone on the floors.
"Day 1 of shooting. The adventure begins... #PacificRim2."
It is set for a February 23, 2018 release date.
