The administration has decided to open paddy procrement centres at 18 places across Koraput district of Odiaha for Rabi Marketing Season.
The mandis will be opened from June 5.
"Every day, 1,000 quintal paddy will be procured from farmers, who have been asked to bring fair average quality produce. The mandis wil remain open till we achieve the target of 1.5 lakh quintial", said Civil Supplies Officer of Koraput Pitambar Acharya.
He said tokens will be provided to farmers and the procuring agencies will test the quality of the paddy.
"The farmers will be made aware of the procedure to be followed while selling their produce. It will be done through banners, posters and leaflets", he said.
