Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan today felicitated the Padma awardees from the state for 2013 at a function held at Raj Bhavan here, on the occasion of the 54th Maharashtra Day.
The Governor also felicitated the winners of the National Bravery Awards on the occasion.
The Padma awardees felicitated included Begum Parveen Sultana (Arts-Classical Singing), Prof Jyeshtharaj Joshi (Science & Engineering), Nayana Apte Joshi (Art), Vijay Ghate (Art-Tabla), Ram Mohan (Art-Film Animation), Sooni Taraporewala (Art-Script Writing), Durga Jain (Social Work), Shekar Basu (Science & Engineering), Dr Ravi Bhushan Grover (Science & Engineering), Ramkrishna Hosur (Science & Engineering), Dr Ramakant Deshpande (Medicine-Oncology) and Dr Milind Kirtane (Medicine-ENT).
National Bravery Award winners Shubham Santosh Chaudhari, Sanjay Navasu Sutar, Akshay Jayaram Roz, Tanvi Nandakumar Ovhal and Rohit Janmanche were also felicitated.
The felicitation programme was organised by the Vasantrao Naik Agricultural Research and Rural Development Foundation.
