'Padyatra' marks 500th year of Lord Chaitanya's visit to Mah

To commemorate 500th anniversary of Lord Chaitanya's visit to Maharashtra, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organised a 'Padyatra', which culminated here.

More than 5,000 devotees participated in the 'yatra', retracing the route travelled by founder of ISKCON Swami Prabhupada via Kolhapur, Pandharpur, Satara, Nasik-Trimbakeshwar, Pune, Mumbai etc, which culminated here yesterday, ISKCON said in a statement today.

The 386 kms long padyatra was organised in four phases and was flagged off from ISKCON Kolhapur on 29 March 2014.

During the course of event, lectures and kirtans were also organised by ISCKON members.
