Himachal Pradesh government has declared October 15 as special paid holiday in border areas of Solan and Sirmour districts of the state, adjoining poll bound Haryana.
This has been declared in order to ensure that employees working in Industrial Establishments and who are registered voters of Haryana exercise their vote.
It would also be a special paid holiday under section 25 of Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, a government spokesperson said.
He said that special paid holiday may be given to those employees only on the production of certificate of the concerned Presiding Officer that the employees had actually cast his/her vote.
