Noted cartoonist Aseem Trivedi feels that an artist is a creative person who has nothing to do with religion and that his paintings are an expression of his imagination.
"An artist is creative and has nothing to do with religion...While painting Gods or Goddesses he or she depicts images in a certain manner which is expression of his or her imagination," Trivedi said at the 6th India Leadership Conclave and Business Awards ceremony here on September 18, where he received the best cartoonist award.
Freedom of expression is a must for an artist, he said while commenting on the erroneous, and sometimes a fallacious depiction of Gods through paintings.
