Pakistan Army has constructed over 50 schools in areas under its control in FATA, Corps Commander Lt Gen Khalid Rabbani said here today.
He said Pakistan Army attaches immense importance to the development of vital education sector and was actively involved in nation building projects across areas cleared by the Army after operations in Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) and Malakand Division.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Model School, Wana constructed by Pakistan Army in South Waziristan Agency, Lt Gen Rabbani said efforts were being made to improve literacy rate in the tribal areas.

He said 53 educational institutions have been constructed by Pakistan Army in a record duration of two years in Swat, Buner, Lower Dir, Bajaur and South Waziristan Agency. Presently, 30,000 students belonging to over 290 villages are back to their schools.
Lt Gen Rabbani appreciated the efforts of the army engineers and political administration for facilitating the local community in spreading knowledge in the area.
Earlier on his arrival, he was received by Maj Gen Akhtar Jamil Rao and Maj Gen Nadeem Raza and was briefed about the ongoing development projects.
