Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister Justice (Retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk has underscored his country's commitment to peaceful and good-neighbourly relations with India on the basis of mutual respect and sovereign equality, according to a media report.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan's High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood, who called on the prime minister yesterday to brief him on all aspects of the relations between the two neighbours, state-run APP news agency said.

The prime minister also stressed the importance of sustained engagement and peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan, including the Kashmir issue, for durable peace and stability in South Asia, it added.
