Pak fires at Indian post, JCO killed

The injured JCO was rushed to a army medical facility where he succumbed to injuries

A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was today killed as Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the LoC by firing at an Indian post in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Pakistani side opened fire at Bhim Post near Kaman bridge on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad Road, resulting in critical injuries to JCO Prakash Chand, a defence spokesman said here.

He said the injured JCO was rushed to a army medical facility where he succumbed to injuries.

Chand hailed from Uttarkhand.

The spokesman said the matter has been taken with Pakistani authorities on hotline.
