Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today visited the GMC hospital here to meet the civilians who had been injured in the recent ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops at Balakot region of Poonch district, and announced an interim relief of Rs 5,000 each for them.
Singh also condemned the continued ceasefire violations by Pakistan and said the neighbouring country would have to face severe action if the firing and shelling did not stop.
"The firing should stop. Firing should stop and civilians should not be hurt. Otherwise they (Pakistan) will have to face it (severe action)," he told reporters at the Government Medical College, Jammu.

"Pakistan should understand, they cannot pressurise India Security forces are giving them befitting reply. If Pakistan does not desist from such acts, they will have face the music," he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister, along with senior officers of district administration, visited the GMC hospital to enquire about the well-being of those airlifted from Balakote in Poonch after they sustained injuries in the Pakistani firing.
Singh directed the GMC's Principal to provide best medical facilities to the victims and announced an amount of Rs 5,000 each as interim relief to the injured. He interacted with the injured and wished them speedy recovery.
