Pakistan today summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner here and lodged a protest over the killing of a woman in alleged firing by Indian troops across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.

Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said in statement that a 28-year old woman was killed in the firing.

Deputy High Commissioner of India J P Singh was summoned to the Foreign Office today and a protest was lodged over the killing of the woman.

"(She) was shot in her belly by Indian troops at LoC in Jandrot Sector on 8 August...She succumbed to her injuries today," the Pakistan Foreign Office alleged.
