Ajmal Pahari had been detained for the last four months under the maintenance of public order (MPO).

Earlier, Shahnawaz alias Ajmal Pahari through his counsel submitted that he had been in detention due to presumptuous reasons without any justification or validity.

Pahari, who was arrested in March 2011 was acquitted in eleven charges of violent crime.

He pleaded with the court that he was granted bail in four remaining cases, but even after acquittal the police continued to detain him illegally. PTI
