The Pakistani military has killed 18 militants in the ongoing offensive against local and foreign fighters in the North Waziristan tribal region, security officials said today.
"Six terrorist hideouts and a huge ammunition cache were destroyed and at least 13 militants, most of them Uzbeks, were killed in the Saturday morning (air) strikes," an official said.
He said five other insurgents were killed and two militant hideouts destroyed by artillery fire in Kharkamar area last night.

It was the second attack in Mirali in as many days.
