Pak national held in Ghaziabad

A Pakistani national has been arrested by the local intelligence unit (LIU) of Masuri town police for allegedly living illegally in the country.

Yunus was living surreptitiously in ward number 14 of Kanjiwara area, police said today.

During interrogation, he told the police that he had procured a ration card, electoral photo identity card, purchased a land in the area and also opened a savings bank account in his name using bogus documents.

LIU Circle Officer Deputy Superintendent of police Alka Dharmraj Singh said an FIR has been registered against Yunus under various sections of the IPC and section 14 of the Foreigners Registration Act, which calls for penaly for contravention of provisions of the Act such as remaining in any area in India for a period exceeding the period for which the visa was issued to him.
 

LIU sleuths were trailing him for a long time, the officer added.
