Pak national held with Indian currency in Colombo

A Pakistani national has been arrested by Sri Lankan airport officials for possessing Indian currency worth Rs 1.5 million.

The officials arrested the man after they found three parcels concealed in his body when he arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo via a UL 184 flight of the Sri Lankan Airlines last night, The Nation reported today.

The search was carried out by the officials on a tip-off received by the Central Intelligence Division.

Further investigations regarding the incident is being carried out, airport customs spokesman Leslie Gamini said.
