Pakistani pilgrims, who visited Sirhind here to pay obeisance during the annual Rouza Sharif urs, today said the people of their country and India want further improvement in bilateral ties.

Before leaving for Pakistan, the pilgrims, numbering around 2OO, said they favoured more people-to-people contacts and further improvement in ties between the two neighbours.

Talking to reporters here, they said people of both the countries want that peace should prevail in the region.

Urs is celebrated in memory of great Sufi saint Sheikh Ahmad Farooqui Sirhindi.

Thousands of Muslims from across the globe take part in the celebrations.
