Police in Pakistan has disposed of a complaint lodged against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, seeking action against him for allegedly provoking people against the army.
Police rejected the report, lodged on May 3 with Civil Line police in Rawalpindi by an advocate named Ishtiaq Ahmed Mirza, after a probe found that the allegations were "fabricated and false".
Ahmed in his complaint claimed that he had received a WhatsApp clip which showed a man making a speech.
He alleged it was clear that the man delivering the speech was Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was provoking people and creating hatred against the armed forces.
Police said the report was not maintainable as the matter was related to cybercrime which fall in the domain of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The report registered by police was not a First Information Report. It is a report registered in the police diary, known in local parlance as 'roznamcha'.
