Pakistan police today claimed to have foiled a major terror attack in the city by arresting four persons linked to a political party.
Senior Superintendent of Police Naveed Khawaja said that four persons have been arrested and they have confessed that they were planning an attack on Shah-e-Khorasan Imambargah in Karachi during the month of Muharram.
The arrested persons - Khalid, Muhammad Mohsin alias Kashif, Abdul Jabbar alias Zaffar, Muhammad Shafiq alias Pappu - were linked to a political party, he said.

"They were planning the terror attack on Shah-e-Khorasan Imambargah in Muharram after receiving terrorism training in various parts of India," he alleged.
Khawaja said the four were also involved in an attack on Afaq Ahmad, the chief of the MQM Haqiqi.
The senior police official claimed that during interrogation the four had confirmed several bank accounts that were used in funding their activities.
He said the State Bank of Pakistan had been notified in this regard. Several traders and businessmen were aiding these terrorists directly or indirectly, Khawaja added.
