Pak prisoner airlifted to PGI Chandigarh for treatment

Pakistani prisoner Sanaullah, who was critically injured in an attack in Jammu jail here, was today airlifted to PGI Chandigarh for specialised treatment.

"Sanaullah, who is critical, has been flown in an air ambulance to PGI Chandigarh from Jammu around 5.15 PM," a senior doctor of Government Medical College in Jammu told PTI.

He said the prisoner is very critical with severe head injury, multiple fractures and a portion of brain damaged in the attack.

Sanaullah son of Ashiq Hussain of Pakistan was attacked by the local prisoners led by a murder accused Vinod Kumar of Uttrakhand in a high security barrack at Kot Balwal jail this morning, police officials said.
 

He was critically injured in the attack and security officials rushed to barrack and shifted him to the Government Medical College (GMC) hospital here for treatment, they said.

Sanaullah, who has been awarded imprisonment for involvement in the militancy in Jammu and Kashmir, was in Jail since April 1999.
