A Pakistani court today sent the head of a religious seminary and two of his accomplices to a four-day police remand for gang raping a class 12 student in a moving car in the country's northwest.
The three suspects were arrested on charges of gang raping a college girl in Mansehra, which is home to several religious seminaries, on Monday and produced before a local court today.
Local residents pelted stones at the suspects as they were brought to the court and demanded that the court award death sentences to them, Geotv reported today.

"The medical checkup has confirmed rape ... And further investigations are in progress," an official was quoted as saying by Dawn News.
The victim's friend initially denied knowing the assaulters but later told the police that the seminary teacher had sent her a text to meet him.
The official said preliminary investigation showed the gang was involved in several rape cases and used to blackmail their victims after making their videos.
Rape cases in Pakistan are rarely prosecuted and women who complain are often stigmatised.
