An 18-year-old Pakistani girl and two other members of her family were injured today in an acid attack allegedly carried out by two men, one of them her spurned lover in Punjab province.
Shabnam Bibi, along with her mother and brother, were attacked on Saturday while they were asleep in their house.
According to the FIR registered with Waryam police station, accused Asmatullah, a resident of Battimanjer village of Bhakkar district, had sent a marriage proposal to the girl's father Haq Nawaz through his friend Touseef but he rejected it.

All three have been shifted to the district hospital where Shabnam's condition is stated to be critical.
Doctors said Shabnam suffered severe burns on her face, particularly her eyes.
"She has lost her both eyes," they said.
Police have taken Touseef into custody while search is on to arrest Asmatullah.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif have taken note of the incident and directed the district police officer to arrest the accused at the earliest.
He also ordered best treatment for the victims.
The acid throwing incidents on women are on the rise especially in Punjab, a province of 90-million people.
