Pak violates ceasefire again along LoC in Poonch

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani troops today opened fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, forcing Indian troops to retaliate.

There was a small arms firing by Pakistani troops on forward Indian posts along LoC in Mendhar sub-sector of Poonch district from 1530 hours today, police said.

Indian troops, guarding the borderline, retaliated effectively and the exchange continued till 1700 hours without any casualty, they said.

Ceasefire violations from across the Line of Control (LoC) have increased this year with 105 such incidents reported in Jammu province alone.
