The last rites of the unidentified Pakistani woman, who was shot dead by BSF on Tuesday after she ignored repeated warnings to surrender at the border, were performed in Amritsar.
"The woman aged around 32-35 was buried on Wednesday as per the Muslim rituals in the presence of a cleric in Thoba village of Amritsar district," DIG R P S Jaiswal said today.
Pakistan Rangers, who were informed about the incident, initially expressed their willingness to accept the body but later denied, after which we decided to perform her last rites, he said.
