The Pakistani flag and an effigy of its prime minister Nawaz Sharif were burnt by protestors in Assam's Kokrajhar district today to protest against the Uri attack by 'Pakistan-sponsored militants'.

Thousands of supporters and members of various organisations, including All Bodo Students Union, Bodo Peoples Front and All Adivasi Students Association of Assam, burnt the effigy of Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistani flag.

Carrying posters, banners and shouting slogans against Pakistan and Nawaz Sharif, the demonstrators held a protest-rally at Serfanguri on National Highway 31 demanding strong action against the perpetrators of the violence.

The protestors dispersed peacefully later, the police said.
