Pakistani man accused of attempting to Indian boy

A 57-year-old Pakistani man has been accused of luring an 11-year-old Indian schoolboy to the washroom of a mosque here and attempting to rape him.

According to the charge-sheet, the suspect talked the boy into entering the washroom and then tried to rape him. The managed to open the door and escape from the washroom of the mosque in Souq Al Hamriya in January, Gulf News reported.

The case was heard at the Dubai Court of First Instance today. Prosecution asked the court to impose a life sentence against the defendant.

The suspect, who works as a technician and was identified only as DK, has pleaded not guilty.
 

Judge Maher Salama Al Mahdi adjourned the case until the suspect's lawyer presents his defence on April 27.
