Pakistani prisoner dies in hospital

A 74-year-old Pakistani prisoner today died after prolonged illness at a government hospital in the city.

"Pakistani prisoner Mohd Ashraf died due to illness at Government Medical college (GMC) hospital here today. He was admitted to the hospital for over a month," a police officer said.

Ashraf, a resident of Lahore, was arrested in 2006 at the border in RS Pura sector of Jammu district along with 24 kg of heroin.

He was suffering from kidney ailment. A Medical Board has been constituted to conduct post mortem examination of Ashraf's body, he said.
