Palamau district today recorded the highest temperature in Jharkhand with a maximum of 45 degree C as the mercury shot up in some parts of the state.
With 44.6 degree C, steel city Jamshedpur bore another hot day while Ranchi recorded 41.5 degree C, MeT office sources said.
Chaibasa also sizzled in 44.1 degree C while Khunti (41), Lohardaga (41) and Giridih (40) endured the scorching heat.

However, Dumka, which recorded 44.2 degree C yesterday, had a cooler day with the maximum temperature dropping to 35.2 degree C due to some rains last evening, the sources said.
Temperature in Dhanbad also dropped to 39 degree C from yesterday's 41 degree C.
